Our Water Services group is currently seeking a Project Executive with extensive Water Treatment and Waste Water background, as well as self perform mechanical and concrete experience. The qualified Project Executive for our Water Services group will have experience with overall management and direction of the preconstruction, estimating and construction efforts on multiple projects. The Project Executive reports to the VP of Operations and partners with McCarthy’s field staff to ensure quality, safety and timely completion of Project, while supporting the achievement of McCarthy’s business goals. The Project Executive interacts routinely with executive leadership and is responsible for developing and maintaining positive external relationships with owners and subcontractors.
Typically oversee 2-5 projects or 1-2 Mega Projects
Maintain a thorough understanding of the McCarthy/Owner contract and oversee the entire field operation to achieve contract compliance
Responsible for P&L on each project. Become thoroughly knowledgeable of projected costs, contingent liabilities and contingent savings/increased profits
Establish/maintain a strong relationship with owner, design team and subcontractors
Serve as a liaison between the office and field, while coordinating staffing and movement of field personnel
Review and approve project team on-site setup, including facilities layout, selection of forming systems and equipment
Monitor receipt of subcontractor bonds; and periodically review status of subcontractor management, change order processing and shop drawings
Assist the project staff in the development of the construction schedule. Monitor schedule performance
Oversee Quality management program to achieve contract compliance and a quality project
Independently review schedule, looking for ways to expedite construction and predict problems
Champion job site Safety effort, motivating the on-site team in the implementation of McCarthy safety guidelines
Recommend self-improvement programs that may assist employees in their professional and personal development
Identify current and future opportunities in Texas that meet the goals and objectives of the Texas Division in its targeted market sectors.
Maintain and expand relationships with current and future clients, architects, consultants and other business and community organizations.
Initiate client follow up on current projects and new leads.
Act as a key interface within the marketplace…partners, subcontractors, A/Es, business leaders, community associations, etc. Builds and maintains active network of contacts and creates trust-based relationships.
Make sales calls with pursuit teams to establish executive level presence, build understanding of customer, understand the sales issues and close deals. Maintains a high level presence throughout the sales process.
Requirements:
15+ Years of Experience leading Industrial, Water and Mechanical construction projects from 60M+
Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering required
Operations experience in a self perform environment.
Experience with Water/ Wastewater Treatment plants, Refineries, Pulp and Paper and Power
Experience in estimating and preconstruction from inception to completion of a project.
Design- Build Experience a plus
General knowledge of construction principles/practices required
Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work
Experience leading successful project team, including development of employee and maintaining relationships with external entities
