Providing ongoing care (assess, plan, intervention, and evaluation), according to the age specific and developmental needs of the patient. Assessing educational needs and providing teaching and counseling to the patient and their family. Integrating health promotion and preventive aspects of care. Assuming primary responsibility for caseloads consisting of patients in maternal fetal medicine.
Anticipating and recognizing changes in a patient's status and need for care. Determining priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs. Providing on-going assessment of patients response to services and teaching and applies interventions as appropriate. Updating and revising care plan as needed. Communicating with physicians to confirm, correlate, and update patients plan of care. Providing status update to physician on a regular basis.
Maintaining and updating accurate clinical and patient records according to agency, state, and federal guidelines.
Providing telephone consultation/triage to patient, family, and/or significant others according to protocol and established guidelines.
Participating in community education programs and continuous quality improvement activities.
Continually striving to advance knowledge and practice of clinical skills in maternal fetal medicine including certification as warranted.
This position will provide coverage in maternal fetal medicine, OB/GYN and pediatric departments for vacations and medical leaves.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license granted by the State of Wisconsin.
Knowledge of nursing equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited associates degree program.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through two years of progressively responsible experience in acute care nursing that includes experiences in labor and delivery or maternal fetal medicine/high risk OB.
Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
Exceptional organization and communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
Maternal Fetal Medicine/Highrisk OB experience.
