The Mecklenburg Times in Charlotte, N.C., is seeking an aggressive newshound to cover Charlotte-area real estate and construction industry news.
The successful candidate will be expected to break news and spearhead investigative reporting as well as produce enterprise work on the real estate and construction industries.
A key requirement is the ability to write thought-provoking stories with flair on wide-ranging topics within this industry. Articles and reporting must be of consistent quality.
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to develop deep sources that lead to breaking events. The job requires the ability to juggle quick turn-around needs as well as longer-range articles and projects -- all while meeting hard deadlines.
The idea candidate will also be a self-starter with an inquisitive mind and a track record on running beats and at least three years of reporting experience in daily journalism.
Strong consideration will be given to candidates with real estate and commercial contruction reporting experience.
