This job posting is for all our experiemental Research Assistant I positions in the basic sciences and clinical research areas that require the employee to conduct benchwork.

SUMMARY: Function: Provides technical assistance in carrying out various research projects. Scope: Impacts laboratory research activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Conducts experiments and carries out research projects in varied areas of chemistry, biology, physics and other biomedical, dental or related scientific fields. Constructs, assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment. Records and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION:Received: Research Assistant II, Senior Research Assistant or designee. Given: General supervision of Research Technicians and Laboratory Assistants. EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
EXPERIENCE: Required: None. Preferred: Some experience in scientific or experimental research work.
WORK CONDITIONS: Laboratory environment which may involve occasional exposure to hazardous equipment and materials.
