This job posting is for all our experiemental Research Assistant II positions in the basic sciences and clinical research areas that require the employee to conduct benchwork.

SUMMARY: Function: Provides technical and coordination skills in carrying out various research projects. Scope: Impacts laboratory research activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Coordinates and conducts experiments and carries out research projects in varied areas of chemistry, biology, physics and other biomedical, dental or related basic science areas. Constructs, assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment. Reads literature and confers with superiors regarding new procedures and modifies them according to the needs of the project. Records and evaluates data obtained in accordance with methods requested.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION:Received: Senior Research Assistant and/or designee. Given: Assigned staff. EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences. Preferred: Master's degree with major course work in one of the basic sciences. EXPERIENCE: Required: Two years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
