The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of HPLC, UPLC, and mass spectrometry instrumentation. Experience in regulatory research environment.
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant II position is to exhibit technical and coordination skills while carrying out cancer research projects according to the lab standard operating procedures (SOP) for the Pharmaceutical Development Center (PDC) and CCSG Pharmacology and Analytical Core Facility (PAF).
KEY FUNCTIONS Conducts experiments for the detection and quantification of biologically active molecules as part of drug development and in support of pre-clinical and clinical trials.
Operates and assists in the maintenance of HPLC, UPLC, and Mass spectrometry instrumentation used for the analysis of biologically active molecules.
Processes and prepares chemical and biological samples for analysis by HPLC, UPLC and mass spectrometry.
Assists senior laboratory staff in the development of new and in the improvement of existing analytical methods using HPLC, UPLC and mass spectrometry.
Records and evaluates data obtained from HPLC, UPLC and mass spectrometry instrumentation with assistance from senior laboratory staff when necessary. EDUCATION Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences. Preferred: Master's degree in a basic science.
EXPERIENCE Required: Two years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. Preferred: Working knowledge of HPLC, UPLC, and mass spectrometry instrumentation. Experience in regulatory research environment.
