Science Technician

A Research Technologist job is available in the Department of Biology at The Pennsylvania State University starting in early 2011. The Biology Department at Penn State provides a rich environment for interactive and collaborative work. This lab performs biochemical and cell biological experiments including protein purification from eukaryotic cell and/or bacteria, in vitro biochemical reaction, analysis of results using immunoblotting, immunofluorescence analysis of proteins of interest, genotyping transgenic mouse, etc. The main duties of this job will involve preparation of solutions and maintenance of cell cultures. This job also will be responsible for helping the P.I. manage the lab (receiving purchase orders, etc.). Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus three months of work-related experience in a relevant field.
