Ensure reporting to Owners/Partners is provided timely, accurately and completely
Prepare financial statements packages and cash distribution waterfall
Work with other departments/communities to resolve issues with F/S
Ensure timely resolution of portfolio issues with Owners/Partners and other Sunrise departments
• Prepare and maintain portfolio abstracts; demonstrate a working knowledge of portfolio contracts and agreements
Participate in annual audits/reviews of managed and joint ventures. Includes, but not limited to, prepare schedules for auditors, draft financial statements and prepare AJE's.
Support the Assistant Manager/Manager on special projects/ad hoc requests
Participate in annual budget process primarily related to cash distributions and management fees
Decision Making Latitude The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Assistant Manager and the Manager. However, significant decision-making latitude will be expected and encouraged on day-to-day issues that may be resolved by the Senior Accountant. Unusual items may always be brought to the attention of peers and supervisors for further analysis and brainstorming. Qualifications:
BS Accounting or Finance
1 - 3 years on-the-job accounting experience with increasing responsibility in career progression
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with Owners/Partners/Sunrise Departments and Auditors
Detail oriented, strong organizational and written skills and strong problem-solving skills
Team oriented attitude
Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment
Heavy experience with Microsoft Excel
Preferred
Public accounting and/or accounting in a real estate development, property management, or venture accounting environment
