Our client is a privately held, growth-oriented management consulting firm.  They work with clients to leverage their information assets to make better decisions, develop new insights and innovative ways to compete, and steer their strategic priorities to help them measure success.  Their consultants combine deep industry experience with expertise in data analytics and information management to achieve superior outcomes for our clients.

We are currently seeking a delivery focused master/reference data management architect experienced in master data management strategy, design and implementation.  Experience working within the Financial Services industry is required along with outstanding communication and client-facing skills.

**IMPORTANT** ALL CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN IL, NY OR NJ AND HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2-3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN A LARGE, MANAGEMENT CONSULTING FIRM.  MUST BE US CITIZENS OR GREEN CARD HOLDERS.  MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL UP TO 80%.

Position Description

The master/reference data architect will collaborate with colleagues and clients to deliver solutions in a variety of client engagements related to strategic information management and analytics.  Examples of services provided to clients include developing information/analytics strategies, designing and building master data management solutions, reviewing and re-engineering business processes and assessing and recommending organizational changes required to meet strategic business information needs.  Key success factors include strong client relationship skills and an ability to understand the business impact of the data related challenges and opportunities of various client situations.  Excellent leadership, organizational, technical, coordination, facilitation and presentation skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and communicate opportunities for data architecture improvement to achieve desired business results
• Participate in the development, selection and implementation of various data management strategies, tools and technologies
• Analyze and document clients’ current state business processes, systems, information, and technologies
• Provide input in designing architecture and developing plans for migration of master data and transactional history from various platforms into new data environment
• Interact with senior client management and business users to map out and document business requirements, data and information needs, and data exchange flows
• Identify and collect information necessary to build client artifacts and deliverables through methods such as client staff interviews, industry publications and group meetings
• Proactively develop and remain up to date with technical knowledge of trends and best practices in enterprise data architecture, data management and data governance
• Prepare and give presentations for both business and technical audiences
• Manage and mentor more junior resources to successfully produce deliverables

Qualifications

• Deep master and/or reference data management expertise (do you want to add any specific mdm/rdm toolsets that are required )
• 10+ years of professional experience with at least 3 years in management consulting and 5 years of financial services experience
• 5 + years performing business analysis, information analysis, information/data architecture development, and/or developing solution architectures
• Understanding and experience with business intelligence and metadata management tools and approaches
• Solid understanding of governance frameworks developed to resolve data ownership, sharing, and access rights within a federated environment
• Experience in successfully leading, managing and mentoring a team of consultants
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentation experience
• Ability to develop and cultivate strong client relationships
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or related field
• Ability to travel to client site as necessary (up to 80%)
