Senior Product Manager
Job Summary
As a Senior Product Manager, you develop and manage roadmaps to ensure continuity in product offerings. You will drive requirements and respond to changing and / or competitive environments which may include product positioning, feature definition, and overall product strategy. A strong understanding of Product and Service offerings, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in a dynamic high-tech environment is crucial to your success.
Essential Functions:
Develop product roadmaps, feature definition for caching technologies to enable performance scaling in a shared storage environment, as well as to accelerate remote data access
Will work closely with other customers/potential customers to understand their performance and collaboration needs and develop roadmaps in collaboration with other business units’ product teams
Will be responsible for identifying the specific target segments, provide competitive analysis and writing MRDs, PRDs
Will be responsible for working with a cross functional group within the company that includes other BU Product Managers, Technical Marketing, Engineering, and Product Marketing to ensure successful execution of projects and product/solution rollout
Establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena
Track general business indicators, including software attach rate, and competitor's marketing and sales program activities
Work with Technical and Product Marketing to create field training & customer facing sales collateral
Requirements
A broad understanding of performance optimization techniques, and caching technologies in particular, both at the server and storage stack
Familiarity and understanding of I/O characteristics of various enterprise workloads
Storage experience is highly desirable
Must have working experience developing MRD / PRD as it relates to enterprise environments
Great analytical problem solving skills and ability to work both independently and in cross functional teams
Excellent verbal and written communication & negotiation skills
Technical background (MS in CS or equivalent work-related experience)
Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including the field
Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
10+ years in Product Management from a product/solutions perspective
Demonstrate good judgment in identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
Education & Experience
10+ years in Product Management
A MS in Computer Science or Business, MS or MBA preferred
