Senior Strategic Communications Planner

Description  CSC seeks a Senior Strategic Communications Planner supporting US Central Command (USCENTCOM) at MacDill AFB, FL.   A CURRENT TS/SCI CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYMENT CONSIDERATION. CANDIDATES WITHOUT AN ACTIVE TS/SCI WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.   Candidates will provide cultural input with regards to strategic communications (SC), information operations (IO), key leader engagements (KLE), and military information support operations (MISO) planning; provide analysis and assessment of information and intelligence related to IO; provide cultural input with regards to SC, IO, KLE, and MISO planning for all phases of plan; provide support to analysis and assessment of information and intelligence related IO, the development and assessment of strategic, operational and tactical level IO plans and orders, and the review and analysis of IO-related directives and initiatives; develop MISO objectives and synchronize the efforts of MISO with computer network operations, electronic warfare, operation security, and military deception in support of political and military objectives; provide support in the review of media focused on developments in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) on a daily basis to provide a snapshot of the information environment to USCENTCOM senior leadership; provide expertise in the translation and analysis of unabridged regional media in the USCENTCOM AOR; provide support in the production on a weekly brief highlighting regional media to executive staff; provide expertise in identifying themes likely to resonate with regional audiences and integrate them into SC planning efforts; provide onsite support in the identification and characterization of adversary communication strategies and assess efforts to counter adversary strategic communication efforts in USCENTCOM AOR; provide onsite support on the development and maintenance of knowledge management database for strategic communication assessments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:  Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university or knowledge in another appropriate area. Military experience will be considered equivalent experience. Candidate must have at least 5 years experience as a strategic communications planner.        Essential Job Functions

  • Conducts the most complex tests, exercises, analyses and assessments of the management, research, development, deployment, transportation, safety, security, storage and/or training for the stewardship and use of existing or future weapons systems such as nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological. Provides expert advice and counsel regarding recommendations for findings and implements as appropriate.
  • Conducts the most complex system analysis, systems engineering, vulnerability analysis, planning, and program and budget analysis of weapons systems. Reports findings and makes and implements recommendations to management as appropriate.
  • Coordinates with high-level governmental offices and agencies to ensure that standards and procedures are current and promote national security. Makes and implements recommendations for policy revisions as necessary.
  • Develops the most complex briefings, reports and short notice position papers; collaborates with broader security project teams in order to provide national security expertise.
  • Researches environmental factors which affect the weapons system operations or dispersion of given agents, the expected effect on population and remedial actions to be recommended to command and staff. Provides support by conducting background research on topics addressing information.
  • Researches and grants clearance of highly classified information to users to ensure that a high level of security is upheld.
  • Conducts initial security briefings for newly cleared employees as well as conducting annual refresher briefings.
  • Oversees preparation for annual inspections by the national security agencies.
  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Serves as an expert resource on national security issues. Provides advice and counsel regarding possible strategies and tactics regarding intelligence gathered.

Qualifications  Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master's degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, or related field preferred
  • Fourteen or more years of national security experience
  • Experience working with various weapons systems
  • Experience working with U.S. and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) nuclear weapons infrastructure, as appropriate
  • Experience working with local, state, national, international or Department of Defense security or weapons system policies and procedures
  • TS/SCI clearance required

  • School of Advance Military Studies Graduate (SAMs)
  • Army CGSC or Navy CSG or Air Force Command Staff College Grad
