Baxter Renal Division - North America Operations
SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
Purpose:
Responsible for the safe delivery and pick up of dialysis products to home kidney dialysis patients and dialysis centers.
Responsibilities include driving an 18 to 24 foot straight truck, delivering supplies inside patient's home, rotating stock, inventory checks, and pick up and return of supplies.
Nature and Scope:
This is a Field Distribution position of the Renal Division of Baxter HealthCare Corporation. Incumbent must work closely with home dialysis patients, Traffic Specialists and Home Patient Service Representatives. Position requires courtesy in all phases of the job, especially when working with the home dialysis patient. When confronted with a problem while making deliveries, this person will be equipped with a list of contacts that can be used to call for support to resolves any problems. Problem resolution skills are required. Must be proficient at using computers and it would be helpful to have on board computer or handheld device experience. Following Standard Operating Procedures and safe driving practices are essential. This person drives a truck 6-12 hours a day. Rotation of stock, occasional hand carry of stock due to elevator failure or customer preference, accurate record keeping of DOT logs and inventory paperwork are required.

Physical Context Work Environment:
This position is primarily heavy physical work with frequent lifting; carrying objects 25-37 pounds or more on a repetitive basis. An average delivery consists of 30 cases, at 824 pounds. Each case is lifted from the floor of the truck, or a stack, (possibly chest high), and placed on a hand truck, wheeled into a patient's home, then lifted off the hand truck and placed on the floor, or lifted onto an existing stack.

•Hazards Include:
•Driving a truck in variable weather conditions
•Pushing and pulling a hand truck loaded (total weight of 165-200 lbs)
•Some are dead lifts up stairs, into basements, attics, or into a garage
•Often requires pulling out a steel or aluminum ramp from the truck
•Manual lifting of cartons Safety Equipment:
Hydraulic lift gates are integrated into new vehicles
Motorized ""Lift Kar"" assists with carrying loads up and down stairs
Personal Protective Equipment:
Leather and latex and/or nitrile gloves

Position requires all new hires to pass the physical agility testing requirements. Service Specialists be physically capable of performing the following daily activities:

Other Requirements
Math and computer skills are required for calculation and computer entry
Experience with handheld and truck mounted OBC's is required
Ability to understand Department of Transportation requirements
Must pass DOT examination requirements and random drug screening
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Age 21 years with a minimum of a high school graduation or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years transportation and deliver experience
Minimum of Class B Commercial Driver's License
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Safety is an essential function of every Baxter employee. Service Specialists are required to:
•Understand and follow Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
•Achieve passing grade on the annual DOT test
•Demonstrate knowledge of Emergency Response Guidebook and other
•emergency supplies and equipment.
•Work in a safe manner, obeying rules of the road and other regulatory
•requirements.
•Follow safety rules including equipment use and driving procedures
•outlined by Baxter.
•Comply with docking, loading and unloading procedures
•Successfully complete annual training and testing for material handling
•equipment.
•Understand hazards of products on the vehicle
•Understand labeling requirements
•Report all accidents, incidents, spills, equipment failures and significant
•near misses to Regional Operations Manager or designee within 24 hours
•Promptly report safety concerns or serious safety conditions to their

Regular attendance is necessary to perform essential functions of the job

Truck Driver/Service Specialist

Currently, we are seeking a full-time Driver to service home patients in Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding area.
Qualified candidates must have a current CDL (class ""B"" or higher), neat in appearance, high school graduate or equivalent, 2 years driving experience with CDL, and high level of customer service. In addition, you must be willing to submit to, and pass, a pre employment physical, drug screen, and background check. The selected candidate will be responsible for operating a 22'-24' straight truck and the delivery of dialysis supplies at private residences or clinics. In addition, you will perform inventory checks, carrying product up and down steps, stock rotation, and comply with state DOT logging requirements. An excellent Driving record with solid organizational skills is necessary.
