Software Quality Tester/Lead Position Title: Software Quality Tester/Lead Location: Madison, WI Terms: Permanent / Direct Hire
Overview: Our client is enhancing its staff through the hiring of an additional Software Quality Analyst (SQA). The application being expanded is a complex, multi-tier client/server application providing a retail management solution to independent bicycle dealers. The SQA reports to the Manager of Development for Ascend. The role provides expertise to and interfaces with business, customer, and technology staff to ensure that the architectural, business, design, quality, and testing standards for Ascend are met through the creation, documentation, execution, validation, and verification of test plans and testing, throughout the lifecycle of multiple concurrent activities and projects.
This individual will leverage existing tools and participate in the application and development of new tools to assist with and/or lead the creation of business and technical requirements, the identification of applicable and innovative solutions, the accurate estimation of work effort, and the initiation and management of project, task, and testing plans. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, require minimal supervision, and be responsible for the quality and timeliness of their own work including the management of incidents and problems in an efficient manner while providing accurate and timely status reports on all activities.
Qualifications: • Three (3) or more Years of Formal Software Quality Assurance Experience Required Including Exposure to Manual and Automated Testing Methods and the Full Product Development Cycle from Requirements through Post-Release. • Strong Understanding of Windows Server and Windows Desktop Operating Systems Necessary. • Experience with SQL Express, Red Gate Tools, and Microsoft SQL Server Required • Must be Skilled in the Testing and Troubleshooting of Networks. • Familiarity with Virtual Machine Server and Workstation, Mandatory. • Commitment to Excellence in Customer Service and doing the ""Right Thing"" in a Dynamic Environment with Multiple and Rapidly Changing Priorities. • Exceptional Business and Technical Listening, Oral, and Written Skills Required. • Strong Analysis, Design, Problem Solving and Process Management Skills Required. • In-depth Understanding of Software Development/Engineering Methodology in Development, Production and Testing Environments and Associated Documentation Required. • Understanding of Multi-Tier Client/Server Environments, Graphical User Interfaces (GUI), and Object Oriented Analysis/Design and Tools Required. • Working Knowledge of Infrastructure including Middleware, Network, and Server • Associate Degree Preferred. • Previous Project Lead Experience, Strong Analytical Skills, and Exposure to Point of Sale (POS) Systems a Plus. • Working in an Agile environment a plus • Experience with Automated QA, TestComplete (Test Automation), Team Foundation Server a plus
