Job Summary The Sr. Channel Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development, management and execution of channel marketing programs and campaigns as well as other marketing responsibilities to drive pipeline against metrics for the US sales team. This key member of the US Marketing Team serves as the primary marketing liaison between Websense marketing and our top strategic partners as well as builds plans and manages non-channel programs. This role may be located in either San Diego or Los Gatos, CA. Essential Functions VAR Channel Marketing Essential Functions: o Work closely with product marketing, channel sales, channel marketing and partners to develop strategic channel marketing plans that align with the corporate strategy and supports pipeline objectives o Develop and execute marketing activities to create awareness of Websense solutions, educate partners and drive pipeline against agreed metrics o Manage national and regional partner marketing plan and contra budget and track spend o Build and achieve ongoing relationships with strategic/top partner marketing counterparts o Create, upload and maintain programs and events within Salesforce.com in order to support metrics for channel/lead dashboards and quarterly business reviews o Tactical execution of channel marketing programs and channel marketing campaigns o Work with Channel Account Management team to tie back marketing programs to ROI o Handle process of tying leads and opportunities to channel partner DMR Channel Marketing Functions: o Partner with DMR Management Team to define and execute marketing programs o Track and manage budget allocation and spend o Perform tactical execution of marketing programs and events Distributor Channel Marketing Functions: o Partner with the Distribution Management Team to define and execute marketing programs o Track and manage budget allocation and spend Perform tactical execution of marketing programs and events Federal Marketing Essential Functions: o Work with Federal Channel Marketing and Federal Partners to drive awareness of Websense solutions, educate partners and drive pipeline against agreed metrics o Develop and execute Federal marketing programs and drive pipeline against agreed metrics o Manage Federal marketing budget and track pipeline against goals SI Channel Marketing Essential Functions o Partner with SI Management Team to define and execute marketing programs o Track and manage budget allocation and spend o Perform tactical execution of marketing programs and events Travel approximately 10-20% of time domestically Perform other duties and projects as assigned Education and Experience 3-5+ years channel marketing experience a requirement Brings to the table a portfolio of proven channel marketing programs that work with DMRs, VARs and channel partners Proficient in Salesforce a requirement Proven track record in successful event management, marketing programs and field marketing, yielding measurable results Experience working with partners (VARs, Distributors, DMRs) to develop and execute joint marketing plans Experience working in fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Soft Skills Adaptability to change Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines when necessary Has an open, friendly, team-building style and demonstrates resourcefulness.
