What You Will Do as a Sr. Director, Procurement:
Position Summary:
The role of the Sr. Director of Procurement is to plan, execute and finalize purchasing and procurement strategies for technology spend across the organization. This includes acquiring resources within budget and facilitating communication between the enterprise and its providers in order to deliver products and services according to plan. The Sr. Director of Procurement will also define the objectives of products and services in order to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles. Additionally, the Sr. Director of Procurement will have responsibility for all hardware and software asset inventory as well as associated maintenance programs, renewals and spend.
Other responsibilities include:
- Direct and manage procurement strategies from beginning to end.
- Define purchasing recommendations that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and inventory control in order to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings.
- Develop, establish, implement, and enforce supplier and outsourcer guidelines, obligations, and service level agreements to the organization.
- Develop and implement all purchasing policies and procedures, including those for equipment, hardware, software, and service provision, in conjunction with department leads and department-specific requirements.
- Analyze trends and market conditions for the present and future pricing, availability, lead-time, and capacity of goods and services.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions of sale, and warranties of goods and products with key suppliers and vendors.
- Interview, identify, and qualify potential new vendors or suppliers in order to secure more cost-effective sources of products and services.
- Monitor vendor, service provider, outsourcer, and/or contractor performance to ensure quality of service.
- Develop and deliver purchasing and inventory reports, bid proposals, and requirements documentation.
- Where necessary, develop and implement plans to auction, recycle or otherwise sell obsolete inventory and equipment.
- Standardize equipment to lower total costs.
- Ability to lead the Asset Manager to plan, monitor and record software and/or hardware licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts.
- Understanding of the VAR marketplace
- Work with distribution Partners to obtain quotes for internal/external customers

What We Are Looking For in a Sr. Director, Procurement:
Ideal candidates will have:
- 10+ years direct work experience in a purchasing or procurement capacity, including all aspects of strategy development and execution.
- IT technology company experience
- Bachelors Degree
- Strong knowledge of purchasing regulations and laws, including SOX and process control.
- Strong familiarity and technical competence with purchase management software and/or automated procurement systems. (Oracle preferred)
- Technical knowledge of hardware and software applications
- VAR Sales/Procurement experience
- Excellent contract management and contract language skills are essential.
- Effective bartering and negotiation skills.
- Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services.
- Ability to work independently as well as, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Can conform to shifting priorities in spending strategies, product demands and purchasing timelines thorough analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Excellent verbal/written English communication skills
- Experience with managing Indirect, as well as, Direct Spend
