Staff Assistant, Forced Charges
Responsibilities Responsible for identifying forced charges and preparing journal entries and spreadsheets to reverse forced charge balances.
1. Identify and verify unpaid forced charges, print rental agreements for rentals resulting in forced charges and prepare spreadsheets to allocate forced charges, make entries to reverse these revenues, and enter adjustments and explanatory notes into the counter system. 2. Prepare journal entries for reversal of forced charges, and reconcile forced charge adjustments between the counter and accounting systems. 3. Prepare documents to send to third party collection agencies. 4. Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Skill • Basic knowledge of accounts receivable accounting practices and procedures. • Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize activities and pay close attention to detail. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels. • Proven analytical and problem solving skills. • Ability to work with limited supervision and meet strict deadlines. • Proficiency in 10-key, data entry, and the use of computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. • Working knowledge of bank processing. Equivalent Education/Experience • Associates degree in accounting or related field. • At least two years of related accounting experience.
Direct applicable experience may be substituted for a degree at a rate of two years experience for each one year of education.
