Studio Technician (Sports Media/PR/Broadcasting)

Reporting to the Studio Operations Supervisor and under the direction of Operations and Production personnel, provide a wide range of technical assistance and support to Studio Operations, including but not limited to maintaining Watertown studios and remote Yawkey and Garden locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate studio cameras, JIB, GLIDECAM and field camera equipment to support live and taped productions
Strictly follow safety protocol and procedures
Set up and prepare studio for live and taped productions
Assist in camera and talent blocking; assist in mic and IFB checks
Light studio and remote studio productions; provide studio and remote lighting support as required.
Stage manage, and assist talent and guests
Effectively train and mentor new JIB and studio camera staff and other operational staff whose responsibilities include studio camera and/or JIB operation
Lead and work with entry level personnel to achieve high-quality standards of performance in a variety of areas
Participate in stage and camera set up, which may include lifting up to 70 pounds, for remote studio productions
Maintain the studio by keeping the area clean and tidy, properly reporting equipment issues
Maintain the equipment inventory list for Yawkey Way and the Garden remote studios
Participate in and contribute to developing, implementing and evaluating high-quality technical standards and practices for studio operation and workflow
Playback of video and/or audio from Avid Airspeed server
Develop and consistently advance job-specific and professional skills
Drive vehicles to and from remote production sites
Successfully complete other related tasks and projects as assigned
Work weekends, nights, and holidays shifts as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have 5-10 years of related experience in a TV production environment
Experience in stage rigging, grip work and remote studio support
Good understanding of the technical execution of broadcast television
Strong technical aptitude and interest in continuous learning
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced work environment both independently and within a team
Self starter who is eager to learn and grow
Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic; must have a positive, can-do attitude
Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 70 pounds
Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed
Must be a licensed driver and a safe driver
