Coordinates staff and resources to ensure cohesive, high quality patient care.
Imagine Yourself... Providing work direction to the operating room staff with clear responsibility for the coordination of resources to efficiently support procedures and day-to-day operations.
Monitoring and assessing operating room resources (staff, equipment, and rooms) in order to efficiently set-up for surgical procedures. Recommending and instituting measures that result in greater cost effectiveness and efficiency in operations while ensuring high quality patient care.
Ensuring smooth flow of patients through all perioperative phases. Assessing patient needs for resources; including direction to staff.
Assisting department leadership in meeting all productivity, budgetary, employee engagement, quality and patient outcome targets and standards by continually monitoring and making recommendations for adjustments and improvements.
Promoting communication among patients, families and medical staff. Coordinating the needs of physicians and acts as liaison between the medical staff and the nursing staff by serving as a problem solver and mediator.
Serving as a clinical resource contact for patients, families, nursing staff, other health care members and external agencies. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license granted by the State of Wisconsin.
Knowledge of Nursing, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited bachelors degree program.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through five years of progressively responsible experience as a registered nurse within an operating room or surgery center.
Leadership experience should include management of staff, budgets and surgical services at the lead or supervisor level.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) granted by an approved American Heart Association program.
Advanced clinical and technical knowledge of the surgery, endoscopy, and pre-operative and post-operative areas.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills necessary.
