Technical Service Representative - Orthopedics - Buffalo, New York
Act as principal customer contact regarding technical product support and problem resolution. Provide expeditious, timely and courteous handling of all customer questions and requests. Attend surgical cases, providing surgeons and operating room (O.R.) staff information on the technical features and proper use of Stryker orthopaedic instruments and implants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical information on the use, application, and available training for products both prior to and during surgical procedures Document every call/incident (inquiry and complaints) in the database system and prepare reports regarding the product issues that are related to day-to-day activities Provide pre- and post-procedure support by organizing and inventorying products, instruments, etc. Occasionally deliver kits to and from account Assist branch operations with returned goods resulting from field service issues Coordinate testing of returned product for maintenance and evaluation Handle requests for the return of the products related to stock adjustments and administrative processes, consistent with Company procedures and customer privileges With the assistance of the Sales Representative, address and/or resolve issues/problems that pertain to products, field application of product, or service to ensure superior account maintenance Advise and counsel customers on their product needs, as appropriate Assist customers in purchasing/leasing/consignment of product Provide assistance to sales representatives and field operations, as dictated by business needs Maintain product and professional skills competence through training and other available means; participate in continuing education seminars and refresher product/instrumentation trainings on a periodic basis Effectively identify and troubleshoot instrument-related problems experienced by our customers both during and post-procedure Interact with various Stryker marketing and product development teams and with customers concerning products and product application Act as technical liaison with Stryker manufacturing partners Train internal and external customers
Qualifications/Work Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated ability to apply office technology (e.g., ERP systems and Microsoft Access, Excel and Word) Prefer 2 years experience in a sales environment (medical or pharmaceutical industry) Applied knowledge of customer service principles and processes Applied knowledge of business administrative and clerical procedures and systems (e.g., word processing, file management and record maintenance) Demonstrated problem solving and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and comprehend written specifications and to assist customers with product selections that will comply with those specifications Demonstrated detail orientation
Education and/or Special Training
>EDUCATION:
High School diploma. Prefer Bachelor's Degree in business or a related technical field of study.
