Growing company in Sacramento is looking for a Technical Writer! Technical Writer will be responsible developing and writing technical notes and other short articles for publication to company's customers. Responsibilities
Scope creation of new documents and updates to existing guides and create project plans that can meet schedule requirements.
Gather technical data, usage, and functionality for products from Product Marketing and Engineering for use in documentation.
Write installation, configuration and usage documentation for company's products.
Manage review/approval for documents to meet schedule requirements.
Develop layout and format to improve communication of concepts and ideas to customer related products.
Update existing user guides and other documentation to current functionality.
Assist Technical Support Engineers with Technical Notes and knowledgebase articles.
Occasionally write internal documentation with complex technical subjects.
Occasionally assist Marketing with marketing and sales collateral where it relates to features and technical functionality.
Perform other functions as directed.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in technical writing, communications, journalism, English, or similar discipline or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years as a Technical Writer for a software-based system with multiple components and hardware.
Knowledge of book design, page layout, readability requirements, and graphics for technical software documentation.
Organized individual with proven successful project management skills and excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Adobe Frame Maker and Microsoft Word.
