This program is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. The position is located in Washington DC. We offer single and multiple term work experiences. As a temporary professional, your responsibilities may include: Conducting general legislative research and reporting on various Government Affairs issues Assisting with tracking of corporate and tobacco legislation, referenda and initiatives important to the Altria group of companies Assisting in creation of economic tools, resources, analysis and argumentation in support of federal and state government affairs Attending hearings and preparing summaries Preparing presentations and assemble briefing packets Keeping abreast of company/department goals, and maintain a solid understanding of department priority issues Assisting with special projects as requestedWe are looking for students who possess superior analytical, written and presentation skills with the ability to conduct research and assess and utilize information in a strategic fashion. Qualified candidates should be able to assimilate and integrate large amounts of information and help to find creative solutions to complex problems. Student must also be technologically proficient, and competent with Microsoft Office. To qualify for the temporary professional position, the student must be in good academic standing at his/her university. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred. Candidates must pass a drug-screen and background check prior to employment. Pay for a temporary professional position is commensurate based on student's status in school and experience.
