UNIX Engineer / Navy Data Center Consolidation / Charleston, SC / Active Secret Clearance Requisition ID : 14000A0 Job Category : Systems Job Type : Regular Primary Location : USA-SC: SOUTH CAROLINA-CHARLESTON Schedule : Full-time Remote Work Authorized : No Relocation Assistance : Not Available Travel : No Clearance Level : Secret Employee Status : Regular Job Posting : Jan 5, 2014, 4:28:03 PM Description UNIX Engineer for Navy Data Center Consolidation Within an enterprise level data center architecture, lead the analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-deployment phases of application migration and system integration for Oracle/Sun/Solaris servers and Solaris operating systems. Ideal candidate will possess intimate knowledge of Solaris zone configurations and knowledge of product interdependencies such as Oracle and Microsoft in a Sun/Solaris environment. The best qualified candidate will also be knowledgeable with the NMCI eDMZ, OOB network, database log rolling, data replication, data backup methodologies and requirements, STIG requirements for operating systems/applications/databases, virtualization standards, physical and logical network segregation standards, HBSS, and anti-virus implementation in a UNIX environment. Must have or be prepared to immediately obtain a Security+ certification. Other desired certifications include Solaris 10/11, HP-UX 11i v3, IBM AIX 7, or Red Hat System Administration; and CISSP. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred Four or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming, or naval architecture. Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas Experience working with one or more structured programming languages Experience working with design principles and applications Other Qualifications Analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of systems Communication skills to communicate system proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members Organization skills to balance and prioritize work Leadership skills to assist less experienced personnel Ability to integrate moderately complex hardware and software systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team CSC is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V
