Approximately twelve educational programs are conducted each year to promote self-initiated and
shared field research projects in cotton, pumpkins and other row crop scenarios. Projects relate to
cultivars, fertility, insect/disease/weed management, and irrigation in large-plot field crops. Also,
an average of 2,••••• acres of contracted crops are maintained each year utilizing field scouts to
report crop progress and maintain pests below economic threshold levels. Monies generated by the agent assigned to this position allows the Crosby/Floyd IPM Program to remain self-sustainable.
