I started with Staley Service as a helper installing freight elevators and maintenance on conveyor systems. Within 3 months I began running an Installation crew. As a lead installer my responsibilities were to oversee the entire installation. I would run feeder lines to disconnects, power up control panels, run all types of conduit, pull proper wire size according to the schematic. I would also wire 3 phase •••••volt motors to the correct phasing. I would run all control circuits, including pushbutton stations, limit switches and safety circuits. Many of my additional duties included project management, employee safety training for new hires, yearly recertification, structural welding, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting PLCs, assisting with sales and customer follow up. I became a subcontractor and continued working with Staley Service. Many of the tasks performed were troubleshooting and repairing broken machines, welding, on site fabrication, and conveyor repairs.
