Was responsible for interviewing participants and making eligibility determinations of food stamp, cash aid and medical benefits. Assisted needy families in attaining other necessary aid. Was in direct communication with other social service agencies, including, but not limited to other financial programs available (social security and Unemployment) utility assistance programs, legal aid, food banks, various agencies that assist the disabled, medical clinics, and the various city and county housing assistance programs. I was solely responsible for ensuring that upwards to ••••• families per month maintain their medical eligibility current. I set my own appointments and send my own notices. I completed my work load as well as reported changes in a timely and accurate manner. I utilized written as well as computer based documentation on a daily basis. I was also the Fair Hearing Liaison in my local office and was responsible for ensuring that eligibility determinations were completed correctly; I investigated customer/participant complaints and if I discovered that corrections needed to be made, then I directed the responsible eligibility worker and assisted in rectifying the discrepancy.

Was appointed the City Magistrate by the Town Council. Was selected over 6 other applicants. Conducted court trials, hearings for both traffic and misdemeanor infractions. Sentenced those who were determined guilty either by plea or by judicial decision to jail, probation or community service and/or fined. Was responsible for collections of fines and at times, had to issue warrants. Was at one point, the youngest Magistrate in Arizona. Attended numerous judicial conferences in the State of Arizona.
