History and Highlights
Orchestrated an ambitious M&A campaign. Performed all due diligence activities. Oversaw final negotiations. Developed and managed the integration strategies. Increased the asset base of First Community Bancshares from just over $•••••M to almost $2B.
Built the financial footings for a de-novo banking institution. Helped hire loan producers as well as a complete accounting department. Opened five new branches. Grew Bank of Virginias asset base from $•••••M by the end of ••••• to nearly $•••••M in ••••• Developed a strong control environment and attained compliance with SOX.
Funded a growing loan portfolio. Met regularly with Bank of Virginias local depositors and correspondent channels to open new deposit and borrowing capabilities. Solidified the funding mix of the balance sheet. Provided most of the funding through retail channels of the branch network and local advertising.
Built a strong investment portfolio. Supported Bank of Virginias earning strength and provided a contingent source of liquidity. Logged substantial investment returns with the investment portfolio ranking in the upper quartiles of similar banks in the southeastern United States (Atlanta FDIC reporting region).
Managed a secondary offering. Engaged a boutique investment banking firm. Wrote the prospectus. Completely sold out and upsized the offering in one day due to high demand.
