-Acceptance testing and dedication entails visual inspection for part number, markings, dimensions & configuration and
homogeneity; mechanical testing for smooth manual operation and push/pull forces; insulation resistance; contact
resistance; fuse resistance; over current trips/clearing; temperature rise/current carrying under full current; under/over
voltage tests of contactor coils; drop-out/pick-up voltage of coils and testing of overload relays/heaters.
-Similarity analysis for form, fit and function by visual and internal inspection for similarity, spring force tests, non-metallic
comparison by spectrometry and metal material comparison for hardness.
-Test equipment used includes digital calipers, digital thermometer, digital low resistance ohmmeter, multi-amp,
digital multimeter, megger, digital force gauge, torque wrench, durometer, spectrometer and hardness tester.
Instrument Technician (March ••••• September •••••)

-Required to construct and modify the power interconnection system, low level electronics interconnections, liquid cooling
system with pumps, filters, lines and fittings plus mechanical assemble using drawings.
-Soldered low-level boards required for this effort.
-Participated in the development of a High Density High Temperature power converter as part of a Shared Vision R&D
program between GE and Lockheed Martin.
-This effort required me to perform thermal characterization of power devices over a wide temperature range in order to
determine junction temperatures of these devices in a unique combined environment reliability test.
-Required to construct, modify and design the test fixtures for this test that will be subjected to environments in an
altitude/temperature/humidity chamber.
-Required to procure components for and solder electronic components onto a printed wiring board used as a high-speed
power electronics gate driver for this project.
-Constructed and modified interconnection cables and a number of these inverters.
-Built circuit boards and adapter cables for other minor projects.
