Position: Logistic Manager•••••Responsibilities: (hands on experience)
&#•••••; Include directing the activities of a warehouse and loading crew and truck drivers, developing production schedules that meet sales requirements, maintaining a safe and orderly warehouse, managing inventory/purchasing, interfacing with customer service, dispatching trucks, controlling inbound and outbound truck and rail/plane shipments, ensuring the proper recording of inventories and shipments requirements, and all other aspects of finished goods management and developing and directing the daily plan of action in the logistics center while ensuring a participative work environment.
&#•••••; Develop, manage and ensure the timely and complete delivery of all contract and commercial customer orders from all Distribution Centers, via Delivery Fleet, National and Regional Third Party Courier operations in an efficient, cost effective, safe manner while maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.

Plan and control the effective use of outside freight carriers to include performance to standards, delivery comparisons, to regulatory procedures, damage/loss ratio, and negotiation of pricing/contractual arrangements.•••••Primary Responsibilities:
Manage order processing and fulfillment (day-to-day, month-end, quarter-end operations of fulfillment center) and manage and direct staff to ensure •••••% on-time delivery. Implement order processing and fulfillment policies and guidelines, and initiate, develop, and implement plans and processes (systemic ordering process) to ensure services meet company goals.
Assume responsibilities for both domestic and international shipments (logistics and traffic). Work with carriers, forwarders, brokers and other partners to establish optimal distribution processes and to meet cycle time and cost goals. Insure best in class freight routing and selection processes. Interface with manufacturing and order management groups to ensure customer satisfaction on transportation issues. Own all inbound and outbound transportation issues. Manage daily performance metrics and working relationships. Track and report shipment status to internal and external customers. Site supports highest number of International NCS (Wal*Mart) distribution centers.
Work with all customers to ensure shipments are packaged and delivered timely. Provide world-class customer service and logistical solutions to grow the department into a top-performing center. Update and maintain current shipping information. Develop new strategies and processes to manage and track logistics business. Arrange freight transportation. Manage EOL returns, trade-in programs, transportation brokerage, etc. May provide Logistics consulting to customers.
Build cross-functional consensus for Logistics Program Plans spanning the company and inbound/outbound third party service providers. Design and develop Logistics models aimed at understanding cost and service tradeoffs for Logistics programs and services. Establish and monitor specific Supply Chain based performance measurement systems to assure customer satisfaction and develops risk management plans to assure continuity of supply. Develop, evaluate, and implement alternative/customized Logistics solutions and services for specific key customers and/or channels requirements.
Skilled in concepts for process and performance improvement. Manage programs for logistics process improvement/optimization. May take direct action to address deviations and perform root cause analysis. Develop and utilize supply chain based modeling to optimize costs and service.
Manage vendors and contribute to negotiation of fulfillment contracts as needed.

Managing the forecasting process for all SCMD lines of business.
Leads development of strategic vision and strategies to achieve world class supply chain at SCMD.
Optimizes intra-company supply chain to reduce lead times and meet customer service objectives at all SCMD businesses.
Supports building relationships with strategic customers through logistic initiatives such as continuous inventory replenishment, demand estimation or just-in-time inventory .
Provide coaching and ensure systems in place to support plant planning/material managers who are responsible for the day-to-day planning requirements of plants within the business unit. (dotted line reporting relationships.
Lead optimization of existing MRP/DRP systems across SCMD. Engage the Information Services team to implement systems modifications and enhancements to ensure the commercial systems are supporting planning processes. Implement changes where and when needed through corporate policies.
Develop justification and plan for transitioning to BPCS/JDE. Lead internal effort to map differences between two systems and identify gaps in preparation of BPCS/JDE project.
Identify key service issues and work with plants/marketing/procurement to develop corrective actions which achieve service level targets for all products.
Direct procurement team and work with plants, marketing, etc to meet inventory targets. Develop and monitor actual inventory levels vs. targeted inventory levels directing build and/or reduction activities accordingly. (Kanbans, consign. warehouse, JIT, etc.)
Understand and convey all product requirements for inventory and production. Establish, monitor and maintain department measurements that are in line with the goals of the company. Publish key performance metrics each month to report on the attainment of measured objectives. Empower employees at all levels to do the same in their respective job responsibilities. Support worldwide demand and forecast for units produced in MBI plants to include interplant transfers. Interface extensively with Marketing and Manufacturing management of the business unit to allow for feedback on processes and monitoring of achievements. Leads the participation of all parties in the S&OP process. Identifies and implements continuous improvement efforts in S&OP process across all of SCMD (domestic and international). Ensures consistent use of tools and processes at all SCMD sites.
Focus procurement efforts on value-based strategic sourcing, supplier quality, and meeting evolving customer needs, particularly in the targeted growth markets (BioPharm).
Indirectly manage the overall supplier base for raw material and packaging components. Ensure supplier compliance with cGMP and other regulatory or informational requirements where applicable. Manage and develop staff; build professionalism and competency of staff as well as plant-based associates with purchasing/planning responsibilities. Manage department to support new product development through raw material sourcing, vendor process capability, and packaging design efforts. Provide daily direction for on-site transportation/logistics team. Direct line reporting of transportation team to Corp Shared Service Organization.
Participate on bids, logistics projects, and cost savings initiatives as directed.
Approve carrier selection process, negotiate and maintain transpiration metrics, maintain on-time deliver measurements and carrier performance providers.
Manage order consolidation / load planning to optimize trailer cube utilization.
Organize and facilitate import/export activity
Negotiation and selection of customs brokers, freight forwarders, ocean and air carriers.
