7 providers, ••••• staff. After providing transcription services to the practice for a number of years, the practice required a change in management. With a background in management, the practice brought me into the office as manager. I hired a new transcriptionist to take over those duties.
I quickly learned each office position, the office operations were streamlined and organized, and an electronic medical records system was researched and purchased. This system was implemented in June of ••••• The office switched to electronic medical records, a new practice management system and brought all accounts receivable/billing in house from the Central Billing Office of Martha Jefferson Hospital. Worked with all commercial and state funded payers and software company to set up seamless electronic claims billing. Handle paper and electronic explanation of benefits and electronic funds transfers. Maintain a good working relationship with all insurance provider representatives to handle claims problems for proper and timely claims filing and reimbursements. Participated in commercial insurance contract negotiations.
Accounting - all accounts payable and receivable. All bookkeeping and deposits. QuickBooks. On-line bill pay and direct deposit of owners draws, estimated tax payments for all owners, work one on one with accountant. Budget and profit and loss monitoring and reporting. Production monitoring and reporting to owners. Owner compensation summary. Financing of EMR and acquired line of credit and manage same.
Human Resources - Handle all recruiting, screening and hiring. Make and carry out all disciplinary actions and facilitate promotions and terminations. Schedule and arrange all office events (recreational and educational). Conduct and participate in employee performance appraisals. Create and maintain personnel files and payroll administration.
Office Operations - Handle all mail. Create and maintain schedule, adjusting as needed to serve the patient and provider needs. Manage schedule for all events including medical staff meetings, section meetings, drug rep lunches, interoffice functions like monthly birthday lunches, etc. Provide back up for all positions. Process electronic billing/claims daily, monitoring reports generated from clearinghouse. Post payments from insurance carriers, monthly patient statements and collections. Handle all parent complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.
Handle purchasing of all supplies, equipment and furnishings. Negotiate all contracts for the office including advertising, telephone, computer and office services. All vaccine ordering and management. Work closely with nurses regarding medical supply and equipment needs and maintenance.
In-office IT person. Monitor servers and performance logs, manage interfaces with outside data sources. Work within software as needed making changes, installing upgrades, etc. (Allscripts, formerly A4 Healthmatics, electronic medical records and Ntierprise practice management system).
