I am an ambitious coach eager to learn and develop my coaching styles and knowledge. Since beginning my coaching career I have experienced working with both recreational and elite youth players ranging in age from 3 to ••••• years old. I am focused on improving and continually look for new opportunities to test myself and learn about coaching techniques and programmes.
December ••••• Present Hibernian FC
I have recently begun working for Hibernian FC as a community football coach, developing talented young footballers at our weekly centre at the Hibernian Academy and recommending potentially elite players to the clubs academy teams.
May ••••• Present•••••Coerver Coaching.
I currently work as a skills coach for Coerver coaching. Coerver coaching is a global football skills teaching method which focuses on individual technical development and small group play. I lead 4 weekly skills schools at various venues across Edinburgh and an advanced elite programme held at Hearts Football Club Academy, as well as working on soccer camps alongside coaches from the Benfica FC Academy. While working with Coerver I have learnt a lot about improving players technical ability and their understanding of the game.
April ••••• Present•••••Play2Learn Football Coaching.
Play2Learn deliver coaching to nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools, sports clubs and other organisations in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. While working for Play2learn I have coached in many nursery and primary schools which has taught me a lot about child development, instilling the basic skills and principles of the game in order to set a good foundation for future development. Furthermore, working with Play2Learn has allowed me to be part of the coaching team at Hutchison Vale FC, one of Scotlands most well established and successful youth football clubs, as I coach the under •••••s girls team.
January ••••• September ••••••••••Whitley Bay Womens FC Development Team.
I was head coach for the Whitley Bay Womens Development team in the Northumberland Girls and Womens championship. The team consisted of county standard players aged between ••••• and ••••• years. My role was to take all the training sessions and be responsible for all of the match day duties such as team selection, tactics, and coaching.
July ••••• December ••••••••••Cullercoats Boys FC
While at Cullercoats FC I progressed from assistant to head coach of the under •••••s boys, this meant that my role was primarily coaching the players during training and on match days as well as initiating the recruitment of new players.
January ••••• June ••••••••••Sunderland FC
During my time at Sunderland FC I worked as a community football coach, coaching children within schools and colleges in the local area both within curriculum time and in clubs after school. Additionally, my role included coordinating and coaching in development centres for both boys and girls aged between 8 and ••••• years. Alongside coaching my role was to identify talented players and invite them to the Sunderland FC Academy.
October ••••• December ••••••••••Valley Gardens Middle School
For 3 months I worked on a project which involved promoting girls football within the school. As well as providing coaching for the girls football team the focus of my time at Valley Gardens Middle School was organising and delivering a girls out of school hours inter class football tournament which was open to all female students and included coverage in the local media and trophy presentations from the manager of the local womens football team.
June ••••• August ••••••••••British Soccer Camps.
I coached football to children aged between 5 and ••••• years throughout California and Arizona, I was also given the responsibility of being camp director on several occasions throughout the summer which meant that I was responsible for designating roles to a team of ••••• coaches and dealing with any queries or problems.
May ••••• July ••••••••••Northumberland Sport.
I aided the organisation and design of a sports festival specifically for disabled children in the North East of England. I dealt with many sports development organisations on a daily basis and initiated all of the marketing and the PR for the event.
Qualifications.
2:1 BA Honours Degree in Sports Studies and Physical Education from York St John University (including a 6 month study abroad period at Michigan State University).
