EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:
- 6 Sigma: Currently contracted as software systems
specialist in support of Boeings on-site Customer Representative
at the Honeywell Defense Avionics Systems plant in Albuquerque.
Primary responsibility is oversight of software systems development
processes on the CH•••••, V••••• and KC••••• avionics (glass cockpit)
programs. Experienced with ISO ••••• standards and RTCA DO•••••B
certification programs for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Interfaces with Honeywell management and technical personnel on
daily basis. Performs audits to insure Honeywells compliance with
contractual specifications and standards regarding configuration
management, quality processes and requirements traceability in a
large-scale software development and manufacturing environment.
- DAC: As company owner, led the design and development of an
embedded •••••HC••••• micro-processor product for a laptop based vehicle
positioning system, featuring GPS and broadband radio interfaces.
Personally responsible for map characterization and compression
algorithms to provide display of surface or airborne vehicle
position information on this moving map system. Acted as primary
customer interface and oversaw general management functions such
as marketing, bids and proposals, recruiting, legal and payroll.
Previously led the design, development and integration of a
touchscreen based computer system used to acquire, enhance, rotate
and display medical MRI and CT scans as aid and guide to brain
surgeons in clinical diagnosis and tumor treatment. Simulated
radio isotope dosage and brain probes, recommending optimal probe
entry point to minimize damage to critical brain functions.
- Martin Marietta: Worked at the Theatre Air Command and
Control Simulator Facility (TACCSF) air-to-air and ground-to-air
multicomputer weapons simulator at KAFB, New Mexico. Maintained
and updated the F••••• flight simulator model from battlefield data
generated during Desert Storm. Also designed and developed a
software analysis tool which cross-referenced all "shared-memory
variables" in simulator software.
- DemoGraFX: Participated in a team design of a board level
graphics product for NCR. Simulated signals at the pin level to
establish the multi-processor/bus/memory hardware performance
requirements for this PC bus-resident card. Responsible for model
development and production of final specifications document.
- Honeywell, Defense Avionics Systems (DAS): Developed the
integration and V&V schedule for Honeywells original Digital Map.
This schedule included personnel, lab configuration, test software,
bench hardware and support equipment and materials.
Then served as Principal Investigator on a Digital Video Map
System research project which developed kalman filter applications
on terrain aided navigation, data compression/decompression and
pattern recognition algorithms for the FA••••• Digital Map. Modelled
all communication between three MIL STD •••••As microprocessors to
optimize MIL STD ••••• bus message traffic on AV8B aircraft. Also
simulated polygon image rendering hardware signals at the bus level
to establish the microprocessor performance requirements for the
upgraded Digital Map for the Quiet Knight (Special Forces C•••••)
aircraft.
Promoted to Manager of Honeywells Simulations and Analysis
Section of Technology Engineering, responsible for eighteen
engineers in the design, development and configuration control of
real-time, six-DOF aircraft control systems models on Gould and
Elxsi systems. Aircraft models were C•••••, B•••••, KC•••••, F••••• and
AV8B which involved over 4 million lines of code.
- BDM: Became Software Manager of ElectroMagnetic Pulse (EMP)
Simulator systems when contract won from TRW. Responsible for
maintenance and modification of over 2 million lines of code.
Significant experience in the characterization of fiber optic/laser
propagated EMP isolation systems. Later promoted to Deputy Program
Manager on the Trailmaster Instrumentation Support program for the
Los Alamos National Laboratories. This was a proof of concept
program for X-ray field confinement and ignition of nuclear fusion.
Served as Deputy Program Manager on the program which
specified, designed, developed, installed and tested a real-time
computer based monitor and fire control system at the CASINO X-ray
facility at the Naval Surface Weapons Center.
- TRW: As Senior Software Engineer was responsible for design,
development, installation, testing, documentation and configuration
control of data acquisition and processing software at the HPD/VPD,
TRESTLE and Direct Drive Laboratory of the EMP Simulator facilities
at Kirtland AFB. Developed ATE computer system to automatically
measure probe and data link transfer functions. This allowed
frequency domain correction of sensors and systems on time domain
system responses, using signal deconvolution and Fourier analysis
techniques.
- Falcon Research and Development: Modelled radio-nucleid
transport and concentration diffusion for a Sandia National
Laboratories study of the Nuclear Waste Isolation Pilot Project
(WIPP) aquifers. Developed a model of an electromagnetic injection
device to examine military aircraft wings for signs of metal
fatigue. Modelled truss bridges for a China Lake air-to-ground
weapons effects contract. Performed azimuth and angle of attack
studies with deformation and collapse analysis of bridge models,
producing optimized aircraft weapons payload configurations.
Performed air-to-air engagement simulations of AIM •••••J missiles
with enemy aircraft.
- Control Data Corporation (CDC): As recent BS college
graduate, worked in integration, quality control and verification/
validation testing of Cyber ••••• supercomputers at Arden Hills
manufacturing facility, Minnesota.
Later as a computer maintenance engineer, was also responsible
for maintenance software system on the CDC ••••• and CDC •••••
supercomputer systems at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory (AFWL),
KAFB, New Mexico.
Managed the technical efforts of three Systems Analysts in the
Consulting Section of the Computational Division of AFWL. Analyzed
dumps and generated software system problem reports. Specialized
in code vectorization and execution optimization techniques on
nuclear induced blast/shock simulation codes run on CDC and Cray
supercomputer systems.
