On another project, I worked on extending the Common Data Load Software
project for a national travel company. The travel service was required
to provide travel reports to government airlines and fortune •••••
clients. I researched and resolved exceptions that occurred during the
loading of data and attended meetings where he assisted users. He also
assisted in defining the business requirements and converted them into
logical system design. I designed new methods of extending the current
system with the help of the business users. I developed new logic for the
system to ease the use of enhancement to the system. I documented the
system extensively to allow users to correct the system logic as needed.

On another project, I worked on interface development of the EnergySense
product line for an energy services company. This system provides
Automated Energy Consumption and Utilization as graphical information, as
well as historical data of energy usage in buildings serviced by this
company.

I assisted in defining user requirements for the Data Interface. I
designed the interface for importing data from an external file format
used by all energy companies and developed the file importer program in

I worked on a data load project for a major travel company. The project
involved loading of travel data coming from SABRE and Apollo to a
mainframe DB2 database using Sybase as a back-end qualifier and
aggregator. Common exceptions like voids, cancellations, and transfers
had to be researched and resolved on a real-time basis. I assisted in
user requirements gathering and definition by working with travel staff
and data-integrity teams. I designed a simplified process to replace a
complex one to handle voids and transfers using linked list objects. I
developed a time-based system to access Sybase on Unix and validate
incoming data. I also developed an MDI Gateway process to update DB2
data for a Fare By Leg Application. I attended Morning Load Meetings and
was on call •••••/7 to provide production support.
Environment: HP UNIX •••••, Sybase Server •••••, C/C•••••, MDI Gateway, Windows

For the same travel company, I provided service for the British Airways
account. The system analyzed marketing data, which enabled British
Airways to identify potential clients. The data collected by the travel
company was stored on an Oracle database. The British Airways staff
accessed this data from a Lotus Notes Application. My responsibilities
were to reorganize the database to eliminate redundant columns and
convert a flat table structure to an OLTP model. With the above changes,
I was to ensure that the Lotus Notes application could access the
reorganized database without any changes being visible to the end user.
I assisted in gathering change requirements for the Lotus Notes
application. I redesigned the Oracle database structure and developed
stored procedures and packages to move the data from the old structure to
the new structure, utilizing Oracle ••••• PL-SQL. I developed stored
procedures to move data on a daily basis from new OLTP structure to the
old tables to ensure efficient access of survey information. I
redesigned queries in the Lotus application to access customer
information from the redesigned tables. Stored procedures with dynamic
SQL were also coded to access data from the Lotus Notes applications.
With the stored procedures, Oracle Notes extensions were utilized to
optimize the accesses.

Environment: PL-SQL •••••, Unix, HP-UX •••••, Oracle •••••, Oracle stored
procedures, Oracle LSX •••••, Lotus Notes •••••

I worked on the Design, Development, and Implementation of the Export
Profit & Loss system for a major food wholesaler. This system tracked
Sales, Operations and Ledger information that did not pass business
requirements based upon the informations purpose. When exceptions
occurred, the system tracked and rescheduled the exceptions based upon
user intervention on a monthly basis. This system replaced a significant
manual effort that was in place. I was mainly responsible for helping
design and code both front-end PowerBuilder and back-end Oracle
processes. I also tackled a difficult process that needed to use an OLE
interface between PowerBuilder and Excel spreadsheets. This interface
produced CC-mailable reports and an Excel spreadsheet from data imported
from Lotus to PowerBuilder. I was the point person for one of companys
clients, for whom he designed and implemented an end-user interface,
helped train the end-users, and trouble shot SQL-NET problems.

functions and triggers, PL/SQL, SQL Loader, AutoSys
Dates : Oct••••• Sep•••••

At a major retailer, I re-wrote a Guest Service Counter system.
Development was done in C, C•••••, and Visual C••••• utilizing Microsoft
Foundation Class Libraries. I was responsible for the design and time
estimates of the new system. After the development phase was completed,
he performed unit testing and implemented the new system.

On another project at the same client, I was responsible for developing,
testing, and implementing software solutions for a process within a
diverse computing environment. On an IBM mainframe, data describing
store shelves were captured and stored using an IEF/DB2 system.
Graphical representations of the shelves were also created and stored in
postscript files on the mainframe. I coded applications needed to pre-
process the postscript files prior to their transmission to the
mainframe. These and other components were then assembled, using a COBOL
II/DB2 application, into an extremely large output report file. Later,
the entire output file was converted to postscript using a C program.
The code was initially developed using C and ported to the mainframes
C/•••••

In addition, I was also responsible for analyzing, coding, and testing a
Visual Basic ••••• application. After the output was transmitted from the
mainframe to the PC platform, the documents were gathered and organized
by the application. Print operators could, using the application, direct
specific output files to the Sun Sparc UNIX workstations that functioned
as front-end processors for the Xerox printers.

Environment: MVS, OS/2, UNIX, Windows NT & •••••, AIX, Visual Basic,
C/•••••, IBM C, Postscript, FTP, Sun UNIX, Xerox ••••• printer

I was involved in multiple projects in the service industry. On one
project, I designed, developed, and implemented the OPAC (Online Public
Access Catalog) module of a Library Automation system. This major module
provided library patrons with availability of information regarding
library materials. Features and benefits of the module included a
specialized database containing enhanced records with reading and
interest levels, review resources, and annotations. It also included
MARC records (Machine Readable Catalog) to allow contribution and receipt
of MARC records saved directly to the database. The system gave users
the ability to search on field and subject and also allowed qualified
searches and nearest hit searches. All coding was done in Microsoft C
using Windows SDK.

Environment: Windows, Windows SDK, Microsoft C •••••, Novell, Paradox,
API

As a programmer analyst for a large airline, I was involved in the
development and implementation of a Pallet Estimation and routing module
for the Airline Cargo Flight System. This tool was used for estimating
the size a pallet required for a given cargo weight and dimension. The
system accessed the database and provided accurate details about required
pallet position in the aircraft, if currently in use, and when it would
be available.

Environment: DOS, Novell, Pro C, SQL, SQL*FORMS, Oracle
