ADDENDUM:•••••The following items are projects which, I performed by myself on my home.•••••••••• In ••••• I installed two new garage doors for my garage. I also had to install a separate ceiling plug for each door as well as relocate the existing ceiling garage bay lights which were located where the automatic garage door openers had to be placed. Having a very low garage ceiling required each door to have quick return brackets restricting the swing- height on the top of each garage door top panel. I completed all of this work myself with out any electrician or garage door installation contractor. I received a bid at $8,•••••,•••••
••••• Six months ago I completely redid the family room bath. I had a new floor installed (done by Georges Flooring). I installed a new drop-ceiling. Rewired both the ceiling lights and installed new light fixtures. Bought and installed a new vanity/sing from •••••nsen Lumber; designed and installed a new removable wall allowing access to oil burner and the sewage ejector ( #9); painted and redid all trim work on wall and oak floor trim.
••••• About a year after I purchased the home in which I now live I installed a ••••• house/attic fan. This is seated in the hall ceiling and draws open the louver vent beneath and pushes out the louver vent in the gable of the house some ••••• ft away. I also installed two sets of controls since the original set burned out after about ••••• years.
••••• Installed a damped attic entrance cap which, seals off the attic from the heated living areas. This includes two (2) pulleys, ••••• of rope, with one end connected to the center of the attic cap (a 2 ft by 4 ft sheet of plywood). The other end is tied to 2 large laundry detergent bottles filled with sand to counter-balance the weight of the attic cap.
••••• I re-wired an old Sears belt sander in which the power cord became so frayed that it was dangerous to use. The difficult part was to secure the power cord so it could not pull out.
••••• Built a stair case banister and rail system in my raised ranch using red oak. Bought a 7 step stair section replacement piece from Quality Stair. I then bought ••••• banisters, 3 full posts, 1 half post and ••••• feet of red oak stair rail. I then designed, cut, stained and polyurethaned and installed all the parts. Total cost of about $1,•••••; which would have cost $9,••••• if done by NE Stair.
••••• About ••••• years ago I removed a rusted sewage ejector tank servicing the family room bath. I had to make tools to dig out the ••••• round tank which was accessible from a ••••• round whole in the concrete floor of the family room. After digging for 3 months I hoisted the tank up with a come-along and dropped it onto a dolly. I then constructed a floor on which to seat the new tank, installed a sump to remove spring water and reconnected the toilet and sink.
••••• Installed a •••••v vent fan behind a kitchen stove to expel cooking odors and gases. The vent had to be installed into the space between the 2x4s to draw the air back rather than up because there was a microwave located directly above the stove. This microwave did not have a vent fan built into the unit. The vent system then moved the air up inside the wall and connected to the duct-work exiting on the roof.
••••• In ••••• in installed a wood burning stove in the living room. The stove sat on a ••••• lb 4 x 4 piece of slate on a pyramid shaped box made of 2x •••••s. The wall behind the stove had to be heat resistant so I installed stone up to the ceiling as well as the chimney pipes.•••••I have completed many other projects than those above such as decks, window replacement, and exterior lights, to talk call or email me at •••••.•••••••••• •••••
