Component Repair Engineer

Trouble shoots and supports production and engineering to resolve problems; initiates and encourages shop floor participation in process changes and new materials; investigate process failures and determine corrective action plans. (Welding, heat treatment, thermal spraying, plating, cleaning, brazing etc).
Maintain process and quality control documents, training and test records and conduct testing of welders(visual, NDT, X-ray, cross section), plasma operators and plating operators.
R&D work on the brazing and welding process for high temperature structural metallic materials such as nickel-base and cobalt-base super alloys and lab evaluates the microstructures.
Develop and implement repairing process plans for specific production hardware, to include: part routing, procedure documentation, tooling concepts and first piece production. Compile test results, lab data and other studies per customer requirements for approval packages.
Knowledge of robotic programming (ABB) for plasma spray and troubleshooting, surface finishing and metallographic evaluation.
Implemented new, cost effective repairs on the Sciaky automated welding system. Responsibilities include testing/development of new application, specifying tooling/accessories, programming the computer-controlled equipment.
Support production personnel and engineering technician in daily activities. Train production personnel and engineering technician as required. Perform first time operations. Help identify and implement problem resolution.
Utilizes techniques of lean manufacturing, visual factory and other world class manufacturing systems to continually improve effectiveness in meeting customer requirements, reduce scrap and re-work; participates/leads cost reduction and improvement meetings/projects.

Thermal Spray Engineer

Developed thermal barrier coating NiCrAlY-ZrO2 for aircraft turbine engine blades that increased product lifespan 4 more times. The air plasma spraying technique was used to produce NiGrAlY-ZrO2 coating, the laser beam was used to re-melt the coating.
Developed special Coating (TiO2) for water purification and hazardous gas decomposition. It has been applied to the closed safety fences on highways for •••••km between Osaka and Kyoto to reduce the discharge pollution of automobiles.


Welding Engineer
